To make you feel better, I can tell you that any traditional hard drive won't even come close to 3 gbps let alone 6 gbps. You'll need an ssd in order to even get close to such speeds. And you'll only notice the difference in games and that...

Hello,

Please don't even think of an FX, you have already a better CPU (an FX6xxx struggles most of the time even opposed to an i3).

As Karsten75 said, maybe you choice of the motherboard holds the system back (an SATA3 SSD on a SATA2 port cannot be considered a bottleneck, unless you have an old SSD and its capacity is almost full).

What kind of problems do you have with your system anyway? Please list the specs (mobo and PSU especially).

To make you feel better, I can tell you that any traditional hard drive won't even come close to 3 gbps let alone 6 gbps. You'll need an ssd in order to even get close to such speeds. And you'll only notice the difference in games and that too a 1-2sec loading time difference and that too only if you do have an ssd. Also the fx 6300 if you don't overclock is just a bad cpu. And if you do overclock it'll cost you almost the same as your current build. Because you need a good mobo a good cpu cooler and the chip itself which would be equal to i5 3470 + low end mobo. And the i5 3470 beats the crap out of the fx-6300 at stock speeds. So, Stop worrying and don't regret your decision. It will take another 5 years atleast for hdd's to even push close to the 6 gbps limit. By, which time hopefully you'll get another upgrade. So be guilt-free and enjoy gaming.
