Hey guys, I decided to treat myself with a new computer. I, however, have a very limited knowledge about computers and tech in general, so I hope you'll be so kind as to assist me with the choice.

I'm looking for a computer than can run multiple chrome windows and dota2 relatively well.
My current pc is an Intel core 2 duo 2,4 ghz, with 512 mb ram, and an ancient geforce graphic card and it's basically so bad I can't even have more than a single window running at a time.

While I was searching for a packet solution the other day I found this pc and the specs are as follows:

• Intel Core i5-4670K - 4 treads / 3,40GHz (3,8GHz Turbo) / 6MB / Socket 1150 (Boxed) (84w) (Upplåst)
• ASUS GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB DirectCU II OC (GTX660 TI-DC2OC-2GD5)
• G.Skill Ares 16GB DDR3 PC-12800 1600MHz (F3-1600C9D-16GAR) (2x8GB)
• Kingston 120GB SSDNow V300 SATA3 2,5" - 450/450 MB/s / 85k IOPS
• ASUS Z87-K - ATX / Z87
• Corsair PowerSupply (PSU) CX500 500W 80+ Bronze
• ASUS DVD±RW (DRW-24F1ST/BLK/B/AS) 24X SATA Bulk Svart
• Corsair Obsidian 550D Webhallen Edition - Svart (Ej PSU)
• Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit OEM Svensk

The total cost of the PC and all its components is 600 pounds

My questions to you guys are:

Will this PC be able to run several browser windows?
Will this PC be able to run DotA2 at high settings?
Isn't a 120GB hard drive very little in terms of storing capacity?
Is windows 8 any good and is it easy to navigate through? keep in mind I'm used to windows XP
Does this PC come with a soundcard?
How do I know how many jack inputs this computer has?
And perhaps most importantly is this PC worth the 600 pounds?

Hope you'll answer this, and yes, I'm a total newb :)

Changed title to something a little more accurate - SS

Not worth pairing such a good CPU with a mediocre GPU. This is better:

Hi guys, thanks for the quick replies.
I'm currently living in Denmark and everything you order outside of Denmark gets taxed +25% + extras so basically if I have to order from an UK/US store it has to be a lot cheaper to make it worthwhile.

With that in mind, is this an okay PC performance and price-wise?

1. a pc with 8gb of ram will run many apps and browser windows. 512mb will hardly run at all.
2. DOTA2 requirements are not high. Most any pc will run it. The max settings will be determined by your graphics card.
3. I love SSD's. 120gb will hold the os and a handful of games. Expansion is easy by adding a hard drive for large files such as video's. Considering the lower cost today, I suggest a 240gb ssd.
4. I do not like the interface of windows 8. It is more like a smartphone and is not mouse friendly. There are some apps to help but I personally do not like it. I have tried twice and reverted to windows 7.
5. All modern motherboards will include integrated HD 7.1 sound.
6. Worth is something only YOU can determine. The pc you listed will do your job.
If it is a used package, OK. Otherwise, I think you can do better with different parts.

You might consider the option of upgrading your current pc.
Using 4gb of ram will make all the difference in the world.
You can add a discrete graphics card(if you have a pcie X16 slot not agp) A GTX750 would be fine.
You can install windows 7 .

Will getting more ram be enough? in that case i'll consider purchasing some and upgrade my current pc.
I just noticed my pc has 2x512 mb ram - will an additional 3 gb really do the job?

I know very little about computer interior and don't know if I can add such a new graphic card to my old motherboard

Download and run CPU-Z.
It will tell you exactly what motherboard, graphics card and ram you have currently.
Let me assume that your XP is 32 bit.(64 bit was not popular)
You will actually have less than 1gb available for your use because of hardware reserved allocation.
Going to 4gb will undoubtedly solve lots of issues.
How to do that will depend on your motherboard. I would assume that a 4gb kit of 2 x 2gb will be needed.
Most likely, it will be DDR2 which tends to be a bit more expensive than ddr3.
Knowing your motherboard or Graphics card will verify that you have a X16 graphics card slot or an older AGP slot.

How big is your hard drive? How full is it?
If it is small enough to fit on a SSD, it will absolutely transform the performance of your pc.
