I am building a PC and so far I have selected a CPU, motherboard, memory card, a hard drive, a case, and a power supply. I'm not sure whether I need to buy a video card.

If you plan on gaming, It is the thing that gives you the most fps, Without one = No gaming, Unless you get a i5-4570 - i7-4790k, Which come with an integrated gpu, But its still not very good and won't provide much fps outside of games like minecraft.

Oh, a mistake here buddy. Who recommended you to get AMD. If you have chance then switch to intel, so much more relieable. If u had Intel you could get nVidia.

I am not AMD GPU expert but i would suggest R9 280x or R9 290

You have no idea what you're talking about, so before you go fan-boying about how Intel is better, tell me, how is it better? And don't throw worthless benchmarks and shit at me. PROVE it with real-world stuff.

I am not saying AMD CPUs are total shit. My friend got AMD and he said he is experiencing some lag while browsing sometimes and there are tons more people saying that Intel is better. I am saying that if you go for something good and got the money get intel and if you dont have that much money you get AMD.

For 1080P gaming start looking at GTX760 or R9 270X. It does not matter whether it is Nvidia or AMD both are equally compatible. It is more what is your budget?

Newegg usually has a pretty decent new builders guide, goes through the needed parts and then the execution of a build or two. They update it periodically with a newer version. Should be easy to find.

As for speakers, if your monitor doesn't come with internal speakers (they will be bad quality but usable) and you don't want to use exclusively headphones, then yes I would say you want speakers.

Cpu's can directly affect game performance.

You could have an apu with a r9 290 and barely get 30 fps, while a i5 with the same exact graphics card could get 60+ fps for example.

That is the biggest lie I have seen on these forums and I peruse threads often enough.
AMD CPUs are plenty powerful and are just as expensive as some of their Intel counterparts. Don't be a fanboy. Intel CPUs are just as likely to fail as AMD CPUs. While I do recommend Intel it's not because of fanboyish crap like that.
They have more power efficient and lower temperature CPUs. That's the only thing that makes Intel different from AMD. The Intel CPUs may be more efficient in terms of performance per core, but they are also expensive as hell compared to AMD and sometimes AMD is the better choice.

A graphics card is important for playing games. You can have one even for daily use that'll only cost around $30 - $40 if you just want the most BASIC card possible. If you DO want to play games, then you're looking at the $100+ price point for a decent one. Anything around $100 - $150 will play all the latest titles without problems, albeit on low-medium settings.

If you're looking to play retro games, such as half-life 2 or counter-strike, you'll be fine with the integrated GPU. The only problem is that your CPU does not HAVE an integrated GPU, so you are forced to buy one.
