I need to do a clean install of the Mavericks partition on my hard drive. I also have Win7 installed on same drive with Parallels. Can I do clean install of one partition without impacting the other? If so, how?

Parallels is a Virtualisation tool, not a partition manager; Windows 7 is probably running from an image file stored on your OS X partition; by definition a "clean" install will wipe OS X (including Parallels and it's image files) from the hard drive.

Just backup the Parallels files, along with any other data you wish to keep, before the install and restore afterwards. Make sure that you know the licence key for Parallels or it may not work after the reinstall.

But why do you need to do a clean install of Mavericks? It shouldn't be necessary.
