Hi guys, i just mounted a fx8350 processor but the dissipator that comes with the box doesn't look much good to maintain the temperature of it under stress. I was thinking to change it with a Cooler Maste Hyper 212EVO for better performance. Is it worth it? Can I change it after just a few days of use without problems?

And another question related to that, I know that some people prefear to spread the thermal glue all over the cpu rather than dropping a small quantity on the center: what is better and why? Thanks :)

I would replace it, but it will be fine for simple use.
I replaced my stock heatsink with a 212 evo a few months later.

As for the paste, there are supporters of both. I spread it with a card so that way I knew it was even, and I knew there was no overflow. Pea sized dots mean less chance of air being stuck.

Its not thermal glue, its paste. It won't hold you're cooler on. As long as you're not over clocking and don't mind noise then use the stock cooler. The 212 is easy enough to mount. The best way to apply paste is to do the pea method. Look it up.

I have done both methods. I used to scrape it thin with a credit card. these days I use the dot method. tests I have seen using plexit glass shot the dot to spread more evenly.
