Hey guys I was wondering what would be the recommended maximum ping needed to play planetside 2, arma 3, battlefield 4 etc. without too much lag?

My current ping averages about 70ms but can be anywhere from 40-100ms

So would this be enough to play online games comfortably or should I stick to single player games?

Thanks in advance

In PS2 it seems smooth enough up to 100-110. Then there is some minor targeting lag, past that the vanu start to fly into the ground and bounce around.

Ping is generally like:
5-30=The best, can easily shoot w/o any chance of missing, usually evade shoots from ones with higher pings.
30-70=Very good ping, most people have have this. Not ideal, but no lags, frame drops due to ping lag or anything.
70-110=Good ping, many people have this ping, which is playable when driving but not recommended if the game is close combat shooting.
110-200=Playable ping, shoots on target may get wasted if the other person has less ping.
200+=they usually need to do the guess and evade/ shoot stuff to not get fired down and make points.
Your ping is in Good-Very good category, you should be good to go.

For ARMA its closer to 80, BF3 goes to about 125, BF4 gets to about 100.

I've played with 250+, on servers across the oceans.
The guess and shoot is no joke lol :D

Haha yeah i would regularly play battlefield 4 and COD Ghost on my xbox with about 90ms ping and it was comfortable enough to play but I wasn't sure I would need a lower ping to play it on PC due to there being a lot more players on the servers at once

70-100 ms is a good ping. No need to worry for that :)
