Windows 8.1 and redirecting folders to other drives USAFRet WIN 8.1....Have small SSD and wanted to stop pics/video`s from going on this small drive, followed the advice closely but when I add pics of anything to the larger 1TB drive from an SD card in USB slot, the pictures STILL appear in the pictures folder on the C drive, stuck!

What do you mean "STILL appear in the pictures folder on the C drive" ?

2 actual copies of a file?
Or that when you open Win Explorer, the Pictures Library shows it, as well as whatever folder you have them in on the other drive?

Hi, Let me explain, after following advice, I opened two explorer windows and put an SD card in usb socket,... I selected all pics from SD card and dragged them into a folder created on my 1TB `D` drive, the `C` drive is SSD 256GB only, after doing this I was surprised to see all the pictures in the pictures folder on C drive, so puzzled, I`ve obviously done something wrong, I don`t want any files in Documents folder really, especially pics and video`s.

Hoping you can help, thank you.

Hi, UPDATE,...
Your solution to redirecting was correct of course, apologies, the error I was making was, I was looking under `This pc`and clicking on pictures, well of course the pics etc are in there its showing files for this pc, what I should have done was double click on `WINDOWS C` and go through `Users` etc to the pictures folder,... no they are not in there, success, sorry again and thanks.
