I have 0 clue how to install an optical drive for the zalman z9 case, i can't find any info on it anywhere, never mind a tutorial. If anybody could tell me how or refer me to a guide/tutorial i would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Installing an optical drive isn't difficult, however the front panel needs to be removed. Like most cases, the drive bays are covered not only by a piece of metal, but also by drive bay covers. The drive bay covers have a filter in them to provide clean, dust free air flow. Many cases are choosing to go tool-less for installing optical drives, Zalman is semi-tool-less as you need to use screws, however Zalman has included thumbscrews for this task.
that case should be the same as any other case.

-remove the front bay plate where you want to put the drive. normally they can be either pushed out from the inside once you pull the locking tabs on the left and right side towards

-slide your new drive in from the outside. if your case has plastic screw-less tool-less mounts for drives you may need to slide them to the one side to allow you to push the new drive in.

-secure the drive in place. if its tooless you just need to line the holes up and then slide the bracket. if it needs screws then just line the holes up and screw them in.

-connect up your sata and power cables. sata goes from motherboard to drive and power goes from psu to drive.

the zalman z9 manual likely has some photos or diagrams how to remove the front covers and secure drives http://www.zalman.com/global/product/Product_Read.php?Idx=423
