Sleep issue on my computer

I have windows 7 ultimate and sometimes when I sleep my computer, it doesn't go to sleep but remains on but the display is shut off, and when I try to move my mouse, click my mouse, or hit my keyboard to try to revive the display, it doesn't work. I also tried pressing my power button once to revive the display, but it also doesn't work. So I have to hold down my power button to shut off my computer and boot it up again. However, after I boot it up and I sleep it, it actually sleeps. But it is really annoying to have to power off and boot up my computer to successfully sleep my computer. Is there a way to fix the sleep issue?

Yes it does because it successfully sleeps after I reboot it.
