Hey all, I apologize in advance if I am posting this in the wrong place. I have a Dell Studio XPS 8000 that I've had for around 4-5 years. I'm in the process of getting a new PC but in the meantime I'd like to resolve a problem, as I hate not being able to solve issues. Anyway, for the past month or so I've noticed a faint grinding noise coming from my PC. I initially ignored it as I suffered no performance issues. However, the past few nights it has became progressively louder and I started getting the "No signal found" black screen while playing League of Legends. This is the only game I've played since the issue has started. I opened up the case and completely cleaned it of dust and tried again. The noise has decreased, but I still received the "No signal found" screen once afterwards. This always results in me having to do a hard reset to get the monitor working again. After turning all of my graphical settings on low, I was able to finish the game without crashing, although the noise persisted.

I have never really had much experience with the inner workings of a PC but based on pictures online the noise seems to be coming from my heat sink. So far, I've updated my BIOS and driver for my video card. Neither of these helped. I also downloaded SpeedFan to go ahead and check my temperatures, so I will post that, as well.

Specs:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz, 2793 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date Dell Inc. A03, 12/21/2009
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
System Model Studio XPS 8000
System Type x64-based PC
GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 1.75 GB
RAM 6 GB

SpeedFan results:
GPU 74C with a max of 77C (this is with just browsing online trying to find a solution for my problem; no gaming)
CPU: 66C with a max of 69.3C
Local: 60C
Remote 2: 65C
Temp1: 127C
Temp2: 22C
Temp 3: -55C
HD0: 33C
Core 0: mean 44.8C

Thank you all so much in advance and let me know if there is any other information I need to provide.

Thank you for the reply. Just from browsing the internet today with a few youtube videos thrown in, the highest temperature recorded thus far for the GPU is 86C. That is, again, without gaming. I assume the only option is to replace the video card. Any suggestions on a cheap upgrade until I can get a new system?

Okay, I'll keep that in mind. Does this sound anything like a PSU problem? From what I've researched, some similar situations have been attributed to a PSU issue. I'm just trying to be certain before I order any new parts. Although I guess most places offer returns if whatever fix I try does not fix the problem. Any good video card suggestions for around $100 for this machine?

edit: Just played a game of League of Legends and about midway through the noise got quite a bit louder and the temperature max was 87C for my GPU.
