Computer randomly restarts.

Hi!

I recently upgraded my pc and it worked fine until I put in the new graphics card and PSU. My graphic card was making to much noise, so I ask the place I bought it for some help and they told me to flash the BIOS on it. And that did not help. So I was asked to send the card back to them after some more testing.

And while I am waiting for the new card to arrive I put in my old card back in. And now the computer randomly restarts. Doesn't matter if I play games or is just checking the web.

No error messages after restart.
I have checked temperatures on both my CPU and GPU, they are fine.
I have run memtest, no problems.
I have updated my BIOS.

My specs:
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Motherboard: MSI Z97 GAMING 5, Socket-1150
CPU: Intel® LGA1150 Core i7-4770K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 1600MHz 16GB KIT
PSU: XFX ProSeries Core Edition 850W PSU
Currently equipped GPU: Gainward GeForce GTX 670 2GB PhysX CUDA Phantom

Any help would be appreciated.

Thomas

I'm gonna try that. The computer haven't restarted in almost two hours now though. I can try it out tomorrow atleast. I live in Norway so it is starting to be a bit late here too :p

So, yesterday the computer didn't restart at all after I posted about the issue here. 5 minutes after turning my computer on today it restarted again. But I have some more info if it could help. I checked the event viewer and found something there

So I have taken out the GPU and hasn't restarted in 2 hours now. But again, my computer didn't restart after I posted about the issue yesterday either, it did restart this morning before I took out the GPU. Only problem now is that I can't even play Hearthstone and the new wing came out today x(

Damn! It sucks that you aren't able to play.
It does sounds like a problem with your GPU, though.
Try and leave the card out and tell me if you get any restarts over the next day.
If not, I'd suggest upgrading your GPU, and if you can't afford to do that, RMA your current one. :)
Best of luck

I have the same problem with random sudden restarts.
I noticed you mention Heartstone which I "coincidentalIy" also have installed recently and I think the problem for me has startet after that. Do you remember if you had the problem before you installed Heartstone?

I know that Heartstone requires Battlenet which does some automatic updates etc. so potentially I could give some problems if it works in the background. Please let me know you thoughts on it.

It did not have anything to do with Hearthstone for me. I have had that installed since before summer and the issue occured when I got a new GPU and PSU. After I sent in my GPU my PSU stopped working so I have to wait for a new one there too :/
