I'm tired and annoyed i cant find something that fits me. I have 700 bucks and i dont know whether i should build a new pc entirely or just upgrade mine. I have a Dell Inspiron 570 ( stop laughing )
It has an am3 socket cpu, and 6 gigs of ram, a 1 terabyte harddrive, a radeon 7750, (that i installed) and a 450 watt antec psu ( that i also installed ). I'm thinking of either upgrading it with these parts or building a newer pc with slower parts. ( R9 270 w/ fx 8320 or fx-6300 ).

What do you think i should do? You've heard this a lot but i want to play ArmA 2 and 3 and DayZ mod. Rome Total War 2 and Assassins Creed 4.
Any help is appreciated Thank you

From your title your asking about the differences with the two socket types and how it will affect your build? Since were at 700 for now if you invest in a solid new AM3+ motherboard you could continue to use your old AM3 cpu until you have the money to upgrade the cpu. Getting the new motherboard will give you more upgrade opportunities in the long haul and AM3+ motherboards ARE backward compatible. As for the parts you've selected I think you'll have a sweet pc once your all done.

@Mitchell49ner

Well it looks like an admin took over the post :[ well i could do this but then i'd have to buy another os but i may be able to fit that in the budget.

BTW admin @spdragoo (i dont know if that works) there isn't really an answer there is just comments and ideas. It wasn't a question i was asking.

Oh yes i always forget the manufacturers lock in the os. But I can safely say that your current motherboard would be holding your pc back. Unfortunately there are no specs on your current board on that page but I its a very likely possibility that the board would end up throttling down your new graphics card. If you do go ahead and buy the new Am3+ board you could wait a while to upgrade the cpu. so temporarily the cpu could be taken out of your budget.
