So I recently moved from a laptop to a desktop which I built myself. This is my wireless PCI-E card

For reference my desktop is upstairs and on the opposite side of the house compared to the router which is down stairs.

My issue here is that with this card, my up to 60mbps connection is going from 0.6mbps up to 21 at best. However my laptop which was stationary and basically in the same position as this desktop would sit at 20-40mbps.

I recently tested both at once on speedtest.net with my desktop getting 3mbps and my laptop got 12mbps so even when the laptop is low its still always at least double the speed of my wireless card.

Both have 4 bar signals, sometimes 5.

I'm not sure if it's a matter of trying a new wireless card or I've heard it's best to run the Virgin Media Super Hub in modem mode and buy my own stronger signal strength router?
