What are some good surfaces to build a PC on?

I'm building my PC Wednesday so I was wondering what some good surfaces are for building a PC on I have a little granite thing and a table in which I'm not sure if it's Wood, so what are some good surfaces I can build it on?

Pretty much as long are you arent on carpet or some conductive surface, such as a metal table, you are fine. I build on a solid oak dinning table, and now I work on a desk I build which is metal frame but a solid oak top.

If you happen to be building on carpeted flooring, wear rubber-soled shoes as a precaution. If no rubber-soled shoes, at least refrain from wearing socks during the build
