So I'm running windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit and my wireless card is having serious problems. It never disconnects from the internet but it basically just runs out of steam really quickly. At start up it will usually have a decent downloading speed but then it just plummets to 0 kbps. When it is functioning and actually downloading things speedtest.com gives me a speed in the range of 6mbps - 11 mbps. It's mainly been staying around 6mbps now. I've changed the dns settings a few times as troubleshooting detected that the DNS server wasn't responding. I used google's DNS and that worked for awhile and then crashed again. Rebooting made no differences to typical performance. In the software it shows a signal of -58 to -68 dBm and never improves. My desktop is only two bedrooms away(about 20 feet?) and only has to go through two walls. I don't really know what to do or how to improve its speed or if this is just a really awful product and I should try returning it for something else. Wireless is my only option at this point. Is there anything I can do?
