RAM's Metal Fin is TOUCHING Noctua Heatsink......Safety Concern???...

1.) My G.skill TridentX metal fin is lightly touching my Noctua NH-D14 heatsink.

I'm concerned of a potential static/fire issue with the metal-to-metal interaction.

Of course, I'd remove the fins if it's a safety issue, but would rather leave them on if possible.

2.) BTW, does removing fins on RAM adversely effect performance?

I have the same heatsink, and it is currently touching my RAM's heat spreader as well. There is no issue with electricity between the two, the only concern should be if the heatsink is bending the RAM at all.

In my case it just ever so slightly makes contact. If you're still concerned you could always pick up some Liquid Electrical Tape from a hardware store ($5) and apply a tiny dab on the CPU heatsink where the contact point is.
