overclocking AMD Phenom II X 4 b55

first of all i wanaa let you know i never overclocked before so bare with me. I was wondering if if i can overclock my AMD phenom II x 4 b55 ? and a how to do method written or video. thanks in advance.
my pc specs :
case : antec 100
power supply : 450 watt coolermaster
mobo: msi 880 gm-e41
gpu : asus gtx 660 oc direct cu II edition
ram : 4gb adata 1300
4gb kingston hyper x 1600 (running at 1300 )
now if i am going to overclock i am going to need a cooler so if you would recommend a cooler not over 500L.E from this website:

Are you sure you have the correct Phenom II name? Maybe a Phenom II X2 B55? A dual core?

yes thats what cpu-z says and by the way it came with only two cores unlocked so i think it is x 2 and i only manged to open 3 threads and 3 cores

Oh, OK. That makes more sense. I was going to tell you that it may have some dormant cores if you had a MB capable of turning them on. But you obviously already know that.

Trying to OC a CPU with a locked multiplier is really not worth it. There are two ways to increase the clock speed of a CPU.
1) Increase the base clock (or reference clock)
2) Increase the base clock multiplier

Since your CPU doesn't have an unlocked multiplier, all you can do is increase the bclock. That will entail changing the multipliers of everything else that runs off the bclock. And the end result is usually only a few MHZ.
