I was curious to know how well this setup would do in todays gaming environment? I would mainly be playing BF4, League of Legends and WoW.

CPU: AMD a6 5400k 3.6GHz (3.8GHz with turbo)
Mobo: Gigabyte F2A88X-D3H
GPU: SAPPHIRE TOXIC R9 270X 2GB
RAM: 4 gigs currently, would upgrade to 8gigs minimum
not currently sure what the PSU is atm, due to this setup being one I'm looking to purchase atm (asking price is currently $500 CAD, also another quick question, is $500 too much, price is currently negotiable atm)

thanks all for any insight!

Thanks,

I'm mainly looking for a small upgrade atm to my current rig, due to having some issues with it (im guessing either from overheating and/or old age.) however I'm currently limited in the funds department.

My current rig is as followed:

[CPU]: Intel Core 2 duo 6600 @ 2.40GHz with Arctic Freezer 7 PRO Rev 2.0 Heatsink/fan.
[MOTHERBOARD] : Asus P5K-SE mobo.
[RAM]: 4x1gig Kingston 800mhz dual channel
[VIDEO CARD]: Nvidia Geforce 9800+ GTX 512mb
[HARD DRIVE]: WDC WD3200AAKS=00B3A0 320g HDD
[POWER SUPPLY]: acepower 400w PSU
[KEYBOARD]: razer deathstalker
[MOUSE]: razer deathadder 2014
[SPEAKER]: logitech 5.1 surround with sub woofer
[MONITOR]: dual 21' Insignia monitors (max res. 1920x1080 DVI)
[OPERATING SYSTEM]: win 7 ultimate

and when I first got it, I was able to run a wide variety of games from WoW, League of Legends, Diablo 3, and even BF4 at low settings (getting roughly 30-40fps with some config tweaks) but now over the last month and a half I can barely run hearthstone in a windowed 1366x768 res. with just one monitor hooked up, without it locking up forcing me to reset the system or it just restarting on its own, if used during the middle of the day. At night when its a lot cooler, its a bit more forgiving if I try hearthstone at least. Use to be the same way with League of Legends but now I can't even run that in the cooler temps of the evenings.

so now I'm looking around for a tower side/upgrade preferably in the $400 CAD price range ($500 CAD absolute max) just to get by for the time being to save up for an actual better gaming rig.

yeah I was told to looking into Open Hardware Monitor, to check my fan speeds and my GPU was set to auto @ 35%

so I manually switched it to higher. Currently after about 2 1/2 hrs of internet browsing use with both sides of my case off atm and the GPU fan running at 100% my temps are reading:

cpu: core1: 45c core2: 41c
GPU: 47c
fan speed 100%

I'd prefer not to have to run the fan speed at 100% tho lol. if I lowered it to about 75% use, my temps would just up to around 54c roughly.

anything below 70c is good, also if you want a upgrade, look fior a used core 2 quad for your mobo, and use the dame graphics card as you plan to use, will peforme MAGNITUDES BETTER in bf4, for less money

no, he already has a core 2 duo, i said that he should swap it out for a core 2 quad (same arch as the core 2 duos, but 4 cores)
