Okay my question here is, what do I need to add to my custom build for my tower to be able to broadcast a wireless signal to other devices. I use a very specific configuration for my network and I can't seem to get any router to do exactly what I want.

A wired router is easy - enough network ports and Linux can do that. I would suggest using pfSense. However, turning a computer into a wireless router is something I am not familiar with. I think pfSense is capable but is only compatible with certain wireless network cards. Check their forums for info.

The electricity cost of keeping your tower PC on 24/7 will exceed the cost of a new router in a year or two. (If you're in the U.S. with $0.12/kWh electricity rates, a rough rule of thumb is that the wattage of your PC is how many dollars in electricity it'll use in a year if left on 24/7. So a 100 Watt PC will cost you ~$100 to leave on for a year.)

Buy a router compatible with DD-WRT or OpenWRT firmware. Both are Linux-based. You can telnet or ssh into them and configure them to your heart's content.
