Just got my MSI Geforce GTX 660. I popped it into my PC and turned it on with my DVI connected to the card. The PC booted but I got no display. I switched my DVI for my VGA and connected it to my onboard. The onboard display works. My PC is HP Pavillion p7-1414. Power is connected to the card and it is seated in a PCI Express 2.0 x16. The PC doesnt have an option for selecting a Display adapter in the BIOS. I have Safe Boot off, Legacy Support on, and Fast Boot off. The card isnt detected in Device Manager either. Any ideas?

Oh but it still has fans running? Plus if my motherboard detected it then onboard graphics wouldnt be available.

Fans running does not indicate the rest of the card is good. Be sure to disable your onboard graphics in the BIOS. Try plugging your monitor into the onboard video output to verify if it is on or off.

I said that I could not disable it in the BIOS and the computer manufacturer says the PCI-E should be activated automatically when a card is detected and onboard graphics will not be available. My card is in and it has power but onboard graphics is still available. Possible motherboard problem?

Can you see the bios screen? Can you update it?Have you tried unplugging and then plugging the DVI/VGA and power cable of the monitor?
Can you check the GPU on any other PC?
