Hey guys!

It's been a few weeks now and I can't make up my mind on what keyboard I'm getting.
I've been using an old Microsoft keyboard for the past years, but I think that it's time for me to make the jump. I need a real keyboard, but I never shopped them. I never actually looked at keyboard "specs" to pick the best one. My best guess was always the cheapest one.

It never really bothered me, I was mostly a console gamer. But now that I am converted, I need your opinion, your experiences. And not scrap reviews from Newegg.

"This keyboard is so good, I hit keystrokes and it works!" - 5 eggs

"I received a DOA, don't buy it's shit you'll waste money go get a S.T.R.I.K.E.7 instead it's way better..." - 1 egg

You get it. So I looked for some "examples" and compiled some information to help you, help me...
I really like Corsair, but I'd really like you guys to name any other brands you like.

(Corsair Raptor K50): I like this one. Simple design, looks solid, but it's missing Cherry MX switches.

(Corsair Vengeance K60): Don't have a link, but I hate it anyways.

(Corsair Vengeance K65): I still like the design, but it lacks some functions and a numpad.

(Corsair Vengeance K70): My personal favorite, the design is simple, no macros, solid and reliable.

So, I would like a simple looking mechanical keyboard that's gonna last years, with a great warranty. I also want it to be a full size keyboard with Cherry MX switches (Red) and if possible, I want some media keys, to tweak the volume, play, pause and all that stuff. I'd like to keep it under 130 bucks.

Thanks,
Mamie

Is there any reason why ? I mean, I know it's made solid and all, but I don't know how you pick keyboards. What makes it stand out of the crowd ?

I finally went with a K95. Picked it up on sale at CC, was about $140 and I'm expecting delivery in 4 days. As for the Razer stuff, I think that their products are way too "toy-ish". They are made of weak plastic that can break easily. BUT, I never used the Blackwidow, so I can't give my opinion on that. In general, Razer bets on weak plastic for all their products.

Anyways, thanks to you guys!

I have to agree for the most part, although their mice seem to hold up pretty well, had this deathadder for ages now, and it does take a beating.
