Today, I turned on my machine from sleep mode but the display had a strongish purple/pink tint too it. When I heard the fans come on, everything sounded fine at first but suddenly, I heard a really loud fan sound that wouldn't stop, as if the fans were at 100% speed. I'm guessing this is the GPU. I panicked and turned off the desktop. Tried turning it on again sometime later, but still the same.

My specs are:
Windows 7 64-Bit
Intel i5 4570
4GB 1333Mhz RAM
R9 280X Powercolor

I've not messed about with GPU or Bios settings. Apart from updates to game, not installed anything much recently. I did ask someone about this and they said that Intel CPU with AMD GPU causes major conflicts, is this true?

I got my GPU only a few months ago

I haven't been playing any extremely GPU intensive games recently, only Hearthstone and World of Warcraft, nor have I run benchmarks recently.

If you need any more info on my PC, just ask

Intel CPU and AMD gpu generally dont conflict.. Might be a faulty GPU.. Suggest you contact the Powercolor's customer service

Take the side panel off. And try powering it up again without the graphics card. If it was the culprit, I would switch to integrated graphics for the moment.
