ASUS Z97-Deluxe Motherboard Issues

Hello!
This is my first post here so please be gentle.

I have bought myself a Z97 motherboard several months ago. Recently, I tried booting up for the first time. I get no display output(via HDMI).
The CPU LED stays a solid red, but there's heat coming from the CPU heat sink.
I also get no DRAM LED(It never switched on[not even once]).
I tried taking out the motherboard, and booted it on the motherboard box itself and still it's the same issue.
Could this be a faulty motherboard?

Thanks for the help!

Solution
CPU LED means something is wrong with the socket or CPU.
Remove you CPU, and check very carefully for bent pins. I bet you'll find at least one, unfortunately :(
Sounds like you'll need a new motherboard.

Hello again!

When I took out the motherboard out of the case, it booted up properly. Nothing wrong with the pins. Now I have a solid red CPU LED. I took out the CPU and back in again. It is still the same. Should I loosen up some screws. No wires are running behind the CPU socket.

Thanks again!

No, everything was off when I booted outside of the case. Now that I put everything back in the case, I'm back to where I was again. I took out the CPU 3 times now, and re-applied thermal paste 3 times now. No pins were bent. I don't know what's wrong now. I also checked the power cables. They're good.
