Help with what Monitor to buy for gaming

Solution
I'd go with the 24'' monitor, it has 1ms response time, so ideal for fps games, has built ins speakers, so no need for stereos, and 24'' is the ideal monitor size really, too big and you may not be able to see everything happening on the screen
you can't even notice the difference of 1ms to 4ms (The two monitors listed have these response times), it's simply about input lag. You will see a difference between 2ms and 8ms on the other hand though.

I prefer gaming on larger screens, so it just depends on your personal preference.

The difference between the 24" and 27" monitor in size is just added pixels added to the top of the monitor for the 27". Both are the same in width. The pixels are more noticeable for the 27" than the 24". And when watching videos, you may get the black bars. Unsure if you are okay with that but I am sure movies arent rendered to 1920 x 1200.

I am sure you will be satisfied with the BenQ RL2455hm. If you can spare an extra $100, get the BenQ XL2420G

Send a link to the Acer but if you are looking for a gaming monitor, I would use ASUS or BenQ as I enjoyed many of their monitors over the years. Secondly, if you are going to spend $250, you might as well go for the BenQ XL2420G or VG248QE (But I bet the G Version is better but I didnt test it myself)

Uh what?

the two monitors listed have the same amount of pixels. The 27" is just stretched, no added pixels, since both are 1920x1080. (I know you said 1920x1200 but I can't see a monitor listed with that res)

My mistake, I wrote quick :D I was answering a different post at the same time.

Let me fix my statement, the different with the monitors you have is that the 27 inch.. the pixels are larger as a result, in my opinion in clarity, I like the 24 inch better. And I have to sit a lot farther back with the 27", I like sitting close so its why I believe 24" is a perfect size.

Have you looked at ASUS offerings at 24" monitors?
