hi guys,
I need some help choosing a cpu cooler for the the intel i7 4970k. i know the cooler which comes in the box is bad but is it ok to use or will it make my computer suffer for this. if it will can i have some suggestions for a cpu cooler which isn't too expensive yet is still good. I live in the UK and don't really mind what website to buy off but www.overclockers.co.uk seems like a decent website.
Any help is much appreciated.

I get stuff from that site too, I'd recommend the noctua dh 14, it offers the best cooling performance you can get really, but wait for overclocker to do their weekly deals, there are always cpu coolers that drop from 50 pounds to like 40

+1 on the noctua NH-D14 (or NH-D15 for that matter)

There are a lot of good coolers out there, legend's suggestion being as good as you get in the air cooling end. If price isn't an issue the soon to be released Swiftech H220x has proven to be the cream of the crop among aio water cooling loops, according to most review sites. What price range are you looking at?

On its weekly sale, the price goes down to 55 pounds sometimes

my case is only big enough for fans up to 158mm and the fan is 160mm is there another fan which would fit instead which is good?
