Hi,

I need to buy some new headphones due to my Turtle Beach PX21s just spontaneously falling apart. I was going to get some A40s, but i dont know whether the mixamp pro is worth it, or whether another or none at all is better/just as good. I want good sound for gaming and listening to music.

Thanks,
Harry

I had the A40's myself with the mixamp. The mixamp makes a huge difference to be honest, otherwise the Astro's are really quiet and a little bit tinny. They didn't last long though, only about 3 months until the plastic hinges randomly snapped above the ear muffs. Shame, they sounded great too.

Would you recommend a different make of gaming headphones, i know that some poeple go on about getting some sennheisers and then a mod mic or something and a seperate sound card, what is your opinion. Bearing in mind that i would also like the headphones to be used with my phone to listen to music at college etc.
