Back Up for random power cuts

Random power cuts are frequent in our city. My video editing system has peak load of 450watts. A UPS alone can't provide enough back up in running render situations so i was considering 2 options (Line interactive UPS+Power Inverter OR A Line interactive UPS+Power Generator) to counter the power cuts. But not sure about how the system will deal with those power source transitions(from main power source to UPS, UPS to inverter/generator and from inverter/generator back to main power source) ...will these transitions from one power source to another happen without any abrupt shutdown...

Read that the Pure Sine Wave is the smoothest output but Line interactive ups(APC) come only with Modified Sine Wave output. How much does it matter for a Video Editing System...

Cheers 'n' Thanks

Solution
An 800VA UPS plus an 1200VA Inverter with 8 Batteries will last you a couple of days even if the power in the entire city went out.
The Bank you use would be really thrilled to have you as a customer though.

That Sine crap doesn't make a diff to the Video.

:)
What happens the moment inverter takes over from the UPS...will it be smooth transition without a shutdown ?:??:

Yup, I don't have any problems, since the inverter takes a millisecond to come online and the ups doesn't let the PC loose power for even a second.
You will here an occasional beep, but, no power outs, shutdowns or random restarts.

And I've got 5 rigs on the same line.
