Hello all!

I'm making my first foray into building my own computer and I wanted to get opinions on my attempt.

Here's what I've come up with: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/kxZ4YJ

I'm basically replacing an old laptop and I thought I would take this opportunity to build a decent computer that I could use to get back into gaming. I'm not looking to overclock or anything at this time, but I would like a system that will last me a few years. I'd like to keep the price around $1000 US too.

Any suggestions? Should I invest in the i5 4670k to potentially attempt overclocking down the road? I'm not incredibly tech savy and dont know what that involves.

Thanks!

If you wish to be able to OC in the future, in addition to the K CPU you will also need a Z87/Z97 chipset mobo. I have the MSI Z87-G43 which has performed really well for me. If I was buying today, I'd be getting a Z97 board for the future Broadwell capability. IMHO, MSI makes good mobos and Asus does also.

Also keep in mind that when it comes time to OC you'll be needing a good aftermarket cooler. The stock Intel cooler that comes with the CPU will be good enough until then.
