I have a Laptop with a E-300 APU with Radeon HD 6310 Graphics, and I heard that ram is important for APU's so If I replace my 1333Mhz Ram with 1666Mhz will it give me a FPS increase in most games? I usually just play light games like Minecraft, Age of empires, and Source Engine Games.

Solution
the faster the ram you have the better,

The videocard in your APU uses the ram as its memory, it would be best to get 2400mhz ram if you can find some.

Faster ram = higher FPS

hope that answers your question.

I own a A6 5400k and 2133mhz ram. The difference from 1600 to 2133 is maybe a few fps. The thing is his APU is fairly dated and I doubt getting faster would make a noticeable difference.

Also his motherboard might not be able to support the ram upgrade if it only supports DDR2 ram or locks the ram to a certain frequency.

My Motherboard supports DDR3, and up to 8GB ram, but i asked this question because I've only seen people show tests with the A-Series APUs, but is it normal for CPU-Z to show the Max DRAM Frequency at 540.8Mhz? both my ram sticks are the same from Samsung, and are 1333Mhz.

Multiply that by two since it's DDR (Double Data Rate) ram. That's the speed it's running at. Your motherboard or cpu probably supports ram speeds up to around 1066Mhz.

That's why I said doing a ram upgrade to faster speeds would be pointless.

Well I just looked at CPU-World, and you were right.
My CPU only supports DDR3-1066, DDR3L-1066. So The 1333Mhz Ram in my computer right now is pointless, but it's a good thing I didn't buy it lol. Thanks For The Help
