Hello friends, I need advice for this:

Case: Commander MS-I
CPU: Intel I7 4770K at 3,5 Ghz (Turbo boost disabled)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i
Mobo: ASUS MAXIMUS GENE VI
RAM: 16 GB DDR3 1866 Mhz GSkill Sniper
GPU: Zotac GTX 780Ti AMP
PSU: NZXT HALE82 650W Modular 80 PLUS BRONZE

Need advice about the following issues:

Want to overclock to 4.2 Ghz

1 - Installed Corsair H100i and got it working.
I ´ve got the Radiator Fans connected to the pump and everything controlled by Corsair Link.

¿Will be better if i connect the radiator fans to the CPU FAN & CPU FAN OPT on the motherboard and let Asus Fan Expert control them?

¿Can i uninstall completely Corsair link and let the pump work on it´s own speed? ¿Will damage it?

I need every tip or trick you can give me.

Thanks for your help.

Gustavo

I have turbo boost left on, all I did was turn up the multiplier to 42 in the BIOS on my Maximus Hero, booted up, and bam, everything says it's running at 4.2. I've tried using the ASUS Smart fan stuff and was relatively unimpressed, and when I let ASUS's software change the OC to 4.2 itself, it did the same thing I did (just change the multiplier, left turbo boost on) manually. Haven't had any issues.

Personally - I'd say leave them connected to the pump and controlled by Corsair Link. Also - why in the hell is Turbo Boost disabled?

Also, sgtmasterD, check again. He's asking to OC to 4.2 GHz, which (if Turbo Boost was enabled..again not sure why it's off) is only a 300 MHz increase from 3.9, nowhere near 1 GHz. I'm not sure I've heard of anyone getting to 4.9 GHz (A 1 GHz increase) without insane cooling setups (like liquid nitrogen).

I have a CoolerMaster V8 GTS, which is a ridiculously sized fan cooler, and i'm OC'd to 4.2GHz stable with zero problems, and no noticeable increase in temperature over stock. The H100i would OC to 4.2GHz no problem without any heat issues.

Thanks for the quick reply but the Corsair H100i is a watercooler

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.
I´ve disabled Turbo boost because i wanted to OC to a constant 4,2 Ghz or at least 4 Ghz.
Many forums suggest that is better to raise the CPU voltage than having Turbo Boost enabled.
Worst case scenario i´ll be doing a 700 Mhz OC
¿Why do you suggest to leave all controlled by corsair link software¡?

Thanks, will try that.

One more question.

You got 4.2 ghz all the time?
When Turbo boost kicks in do you go over 4.2 Ghz?

When turbo boost kicks in, no, I do not go over 4.2 GHz. I'll double check when I get home to make sure that I did not turn it off without knowing, but I'm fairly certain it's on.

When I check any of my monitoring tools, it states it's running at 4.2 GHz even at idle.
