I have reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate x64 twice and this problem has persisted both times with this new motherboard. When I install the Realtek ALC1150 drivers either from the disk that it came with or downloaded from the Gigabyte website, if I do anything to adjust the sound or click on the speaker in the taskbar, it will crash the Windows Sound service.
If I uninstall those drivers and just let it use the Windows sound, it will work, but I can't configure 5.1 surround sound properly.
Any ideas as to what would cause this, or do I just have a defective board?
Thanks,
Greg
