Doesn't need to be crazy

limit is 1500.....with everything, KEYBOARD, MICE. O.S., MONITOR

doesnt matter where it comes from as I have a FRY's right next to me that will price match everything.

MUST have 16gb in ram, must have ssd and 2tb of storage,

MUST be mini itx

DOESNT NEED CD DRIVE

this isnt a gaming build but some features of the boards are nice.

photgraphy, coreldraw x6, video editing

heres where im at right now.

Yerton,

My approach to this system would be a bit different. For the applications, you might consider the advantages of a hyperthreading CPU- the i5 is not. The i5 equivalent is the Xeon E3 andare hyperthreading, there is no integrated graphics, and typically the cache is but bigger as is the single and double precision. Have a look at the recently released Xeon E3-1241 v3 quad core at 3.5GHz ($274):

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117315

The E3-1230 V3 at 3.3GHz is a good one too, a bit less expensive.

The GTX 760 is probably not bad a card as it's 256-bit, but for video editing, consider finding the widest bandwidth - you can afford (probably 384-bit- though there have been some 512-bit cards), and the most memory. You might have very good results for example with a GTX 580 3GB though there are fewer CUDA cores in older generation cards.

For a workstation, consider a full ATX motherboard and mid-tower case. There are always cards and drives added, and systems used for rendering /effects processing need large, airy cases for cooling as rendering can run all cores / threads full bore as well as the graphics card. I once saw a Quadro 4000 reach 105C while rendering and in a current, open, mid- tower case. With a full ATX, you could consider a motherboard with room for two graphics cards, if your particular applications can use SLI. The difference in footprint of the mid tower is not so serious as not having good cooling and the ability to expand.

Also, with a larger case and for future expansion, as others mentioned, have a larger power supply.- 550 to 650W. Corsair and Seasonic have very good reputations.

Unless you plan to add a second monitor, if you have room- have a 24" monitor. I use a 27" and it is really just enough for all the windows, menus, and viewports I end up having going at once. My next one will by 2560 X 1440 also and think about higher resolution if you are doing graphic design. A 27" 1920 X 1080 does not display small text- 12pt and smaller- well enough.

Cheers,

BambiBoom
