I recently bought a Mushkin Enhanced Chronos 480GB SSD and a Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB SSD and I was wondering which one I should put my OS on. I was going to choose the Mushkin one because it had higher read and write speed but then I saw the IOPS and I was wondering which one to choose.

Mushkin Enhanced Chronos 480GB SSD:
- 540MB/s Read Speed
- 460MB/s Write Speed
- 78K IOPS Random Read
- 37K IOPS Random Write

Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB SSD:
- 450MB/s Read & Write Speed
- 85K IOPS Random Read
- 55K IOPS Random Write

Which should I use for my OS and Games?

Note: If the games and the OS should be in different SSD's PLEASE SAY SOMETHING.

sorry, misread your post, i thought you didn't have them yet.
i'd say put your OS on the Kingston, and run all your games on the Mushkin.
if your Muskin is full (should take a while) then you can always put your games on the Kingston along with your OS, as i said before, won't cause any problems

Okay, so one person is saying the Mushkin is better for the OS and the other person is saying that the Kingston is better for the OS. Both are saying that there won't be a difference between either SSD in gaming.

Key Points:
Both people are saying one is better than the other for the OS.
Both people are saying there's no difference in gaming.

Hes wrong you put the os and all your games on the fastest ssd if you want the fastest boot time and game load times and the mushkin is by far the fastest its as simple as that.

After about 15-18 hours of research, I came up with these three links:

http://ssdboss.com/ssds/Mushkin-Chronos-480-GB-SATA-III-vs-Kingston-SSDNow-V300-120-GB-SATA-III

http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Kingston-SSDNow-V300-120GB/Rating/1892

http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/7111/MKNSSDCR480GB-DX

I'm leaning more to the Kingston one because of a higher passmark score.

UPDATE: This is a matter of IOPS vs MB/s. Kingston has higher IOPS. Mushkin has higher MB/s. Just wanted to clear up why I even started this thread. So basically, which affects the startup time more; MB/s or IOPS?

The mushkin is better and faster. Without a shadow of a doubt the mushkin will boot that pc faster than the kingston. MB/S read and write speed are much more important. And the fact that it is 480gb makes it faster i forgot why that is but larger ssd's are generally a bit faster than a smaller one with the same specs.

I've already purchased these SSD's. I'm not buying anymore.
