Display ''flickering'' issues (Phillips)

Hello,

I'm having issues with my monitor flickering. It happens outside of gaming as well as during games I play. The ''flickers'' appear as the screen jumping slightly, with parts flashing black as well. I am using a Phillips 234E monitor, hooked up via HDMI to an AMD 7870HD graphics card. I am running Windows 8.1.

So far I have updated all drives (graphics card and monitor), as well as adjusting the display settings as best I could.

Sounds like your display is losing sync. Could be a bad/loose cable or connector. If you use a different port on both the display and GPU and different cables yet still have issues, it could be a problem with the display or GPU. If you have an IGP, you can try hooking up your display to that and if your issues remain, the issue is most likely with the display since everything else got swapped out.

I've swapped the connection in the back to the second HDMI port that the monitor has and that appears to have fixed the issue for now. I'll try some games and leave it to run in this port a few days, and see if there are any more issues.


Update: As soon as I posted this message the screen flickered. It would appear it is not the cable or HDMI ports in the monitor.
