Solution
The TX3 is light enough it doesn't require a backplate, so you can pop it right in. The 212 requires a backplate. Without knowing what the mobo tray looks like I couldn't say for sure, but it's likely you'll have to remove the motherboard. Scratch that, I just found a picture of the mobo tray - it looks like you can mount the 212 without removing the mobo. If you remove the right side panel (as you're looking at the front of the case), in the tray that your motherboard is attached to you'll see a big cut-out and you'll be able to see the backside of the mobo through it. That's where you'd attach the 212's backplate.

Install of the 212 can be a little trick the first time you mount one, so it may take a few tries, but it works well.

As long as you mount the fan on carefully I doubt you will have to take apart the motherboard.

The TX3 attaches with push-pins from the front of the mobo, so it doesn't matter if you have a cut-out. That is only a factor if you go with the 212.
