Well, I'm planning to buy new video card as Intel HD Graphics 4600 isn't what I expected exactly. (Some games won't run with different OpenGL script, sort of lag etc)
I'm looking for some nVidia GeForce GTX series graphics cards, & I found one that my wallet would like a bit, it's called Asus GeForce 600 Series GTX 650 Ti Boost DirectCU II (nVidia makes these still duh).
But now the question is, would it match my motherboard? I have no idea how it would match, are these with North/South bridges, PCI's or whatever. My current motherboard is Intel DH87MC.

Of course the video card is compatible with the motherboard. On that motherboard you can install any modern video card. What power supply unit do you have. If it is bad the PSU can certainly cause problems with video cards.
