So i bought a used cpu today an i5 3570 and it was working great until I was playing Battlefield 3 all maxed out and the game was running at 70+/- fps and all the sudden my pc shuts down and restarts, no blue screen no nothing, just a black screen and when the computer was booting up it said something about my psu... Mine is 450w
So what should I do?

Thank you for your time!

Because i think it might be the cooler because it think my processor got really hot

Can't be sure if you don't tell us about the CPU getting hot. What kind of temperatures were you getting?

yep i was thinking that two because i got an error saying that the pc shutted down to prevent any damage or something like that.

Btw when i was rebooting the pc i turned on turbo mode for the fan i think and it seems like the pc didnt make that much noise playing it was like calm...But thinking of taking of the thermal paste and applying a Arctic mx4 and buying a new psu

Cheap but good psu to use in my build that will give me more than enough power?

If you have an Asus motherboard, Asus calls that feature anti-surge and what it does is basically cut off power when it detects that some supply voltages have gone too high.

As far as having enough power goes, 500W is technically more than enough for your build. You just need to step up the quality a few notches. If you cannot get one of the many popular 450-650W units that get recommended in the countless "what PSU for my build" threads that pop up each day, the general guideline is that almost anything with 80+ Bronze will be substantially better than stuff without any 80+ certification whatsoever. PSUs with basic 80+ certifications are usually ok but sub-par PSUs are starting to creep into that arena.

Yes a Halfman 700 psu or a grimtec 750w psu but i cant really find reviews about them so i dont if there good but my current 500w grimtec psu holded my amd 7870 that requires like 500w alone! LOL :p

What do you think? I need a good cheap one that can run my pc with no problems!
