I'm stuck between these two cases, if I get the HAF 912, I will get a fan and the final price will be $10 cheaper than with the Storm Scout 2 Advanced. Based on my gaming setup, it will be awkward for headphone, microphone, and usb ports on the Scout 2(the PC will be right next to me on a desk). So which case should I go for?

i would go for the HAF 912, i have one myself and it runs very cool, and the lighting is also a plus :)
it would also depend on looks a bit, i like the HAF 912 more than the scout, but thats for yourself to decide.

cable management will also be a lot easyer in the HAF 912, since it has more holes to wire your cables through the back.

hope that answers your question.

Is the dust filter on the bottom easy to take out and put back on? Also, is there a lot of space on the back?

the dust filter on the bottom is easy to take out, its just a little panel.
there is definitely enough space in the back to put away those nasty cables
