Sick of hunting and finding only driver download sites that hold you hostage. I am looking for a scan service that will not hold me hostage for 30 or more bucks to scan and download the drivers on machines I work on.
I'm not some IT guy and manufacturers make it impossible whether OEM, Gateway (sucks), HP, DELL or any of the others.
Can any of you offer me a solution?

Except many don't offer drivers for certain aspects or hardware when downgrading from Win 8 to Win 7. I've experienced this numerous times. Their claim is that the hardware is OEM with proprietary drivers for Win 8 only. That's hogwash. They use the same machine for Win 8 as Win 7 with a different model number and a new software load which usually includes a BIOS change to block access to the bios and drive so you can't get around Win 8. This is based on their OEM agreement with Microsoft and is policy... not physics. I've encountered this issue with Gateway, Dell and HP.
