Hello! I would like to build my first PC mainly for gaming, any help choosing parts is appreciated. :)

My budget is around $1000 CAD
-Preferred: Nvidia card; ATX Mid Tower, dual monitor (if under budget)
-Already have a keyboard, mouse, headphones, OS, and monitor

I'm also considering a dual monitor setup, would an old monitor and a new one work together, or is it best to use 2 new ones?

Thanks!

You heard correctly and incorrectly.
Some games run better on Nvidia, Some games run better on AMD.
Generally go for best bang for buck, which right now seems to be either the GTX 770 or the R9 280x.
If your going for CAD then i would go AMD, just raw performance on the 280x is fantastic.

Ah yeah, you're right. I guess I meant to say more games that I play run better on Nvidia. I was thinking of getting the GTX 770 since it's a bit cheaper but I'll look into the 280x too, thanks!
