Hello, I need some advice on a new Gpu.

ive been running an evga gtx 560 and its worked well but not as powerful as i would like and this morning it died one me so what better time to upgrade.

now i dont have a spare set of keys to fort knox for occasions line this so i need to keep it on a budget of around 100 - 150 $. so what would be the best compatable setup for that price range?
My specs are
gigabyte 78lmt-s2p mainboard
phenom II x4 3.2 cpu
8 gigs of kingston 1600 ram.
and a 1000 watt psu, ya i know a bit overkill for this build but i dident want it to need to work hard.

thanks in advance guys, sure hope you can help me out here.

a r9 270 or a r9 270x would be your best bet

Must be a good preformer to have such a unanimous pick.

150 is my upper limit so i will only spend that if the card is that much of an improvement over options in the lower range.
guess ill do a bit of research and see what numbers its pulling.
are there any other good options or is that card just plain unmatched?

The card is unmatched in that price range, the nvidia equivalents are all more expensive

If you need to spend less, the 750ti is another good option, although it won't perform as well. :)

id opt for the 750ti, but that's just because both amd cards ive had recently all had 'issues'(7770+R9 290) they both stuttered like a bitch on 2 separate fresh builds, while my 780 and 580 did not.

looks good, thinking i will probably get the r9 270x. it looks to only be like 10$ more for much better performance.
thanks guys, and ill be watchi8ng this awhile so if theres any other suggestions ill take them .

what i like about that 270 though is its raid compatable. i cant go raid with my current setup but down the road when i need more power ill buy a 2nd 270 and a mainboard that can mount 2 cards. by the time im ready for that, the price will be down and it will be a cheap upgrade.

All GPUs are RAID compatible. :)
You'll love your 270X! It's a great card. The only better option would be a GTX 760, but it's slightly more expensive.
Enjoy! :D
