So i did a much needed total overhaul on my laptop (hp pavillion g7-1219wm) today, it's been so slow lately. downloaded cpuid -cpu-z and saw I was only getting .8 ghz when stressed! fan has been broken for awhile as well, and i got core temp, and saw I've been running it on average 98* C. so I disassembled everything. cleaned the fan. put everthing back togetrher properly (except keyboard, messed that up, so I have to use an external one lmao),and now the fan works great, cpu is running at 1.6 ghz, temp is around 56-60 C, but the fan is super loud now, I'm thinking the heat sensor might have blown and it thinks its over heating? any ideas or suggestions

thanks in advance guys.

Go into your bios and set the fan speed to like 50%

figured it out. must not have tightened a screw somewhere as the corner where its at is a bit loose. using some tongs to apply pressure stopped the whirring completely. will just need to go in and retighten everything. Thanks though!
