Hi everyone! I'm trying to get a first time build going with a budget of $1000. The system would be specifically for gaming. I don't have any experience in overclocking but I'm not closed off to it. Primarily the game that would be played is FFXIV: A Realm Reborn. As far as parts go I don't have preference to what brand is used. First time also posting here so if I need to add more information please let me know ^_^

Edit: Sorry for the lack of information I gave you all. I'm rather new to these forums. I would like to gather and assemble these parts within a week or so. My budget range is $1000 with the intent for it to solely be a gaming computer with the ability to upgrade in the future. I will need a case, motherboard, cpu, psu, video card, RAM, optical drive, HDD and OS. As far as manufacturers I don't have any specific preferences. My monitor resolution is 1600x900 (Lg Flatron e2041)

I'm building this so I can enjoy MMOs (which I mainly play) to the fullest. Currently with the computer I have I'm finding it very difficult to play FFXIV: A Realm Reborn.

Solution
I tweaked the build a bit to allow for the OS and to account for the low resolution of your monitor by going with an R9 280 instead of the R9 280X. This would be a very nice system for your intended use.

Please give us the info in mentioned in the above post.

Until then, this is just for you to make an idea of what you can get around 1000$.
If you need an OS and keyboard, mouse, monitor, the performance will drop a bit.
