Hey folks, I've been looking into getting another 770 GPU, however I was told that the 12v Rail on my psu may not support the two cards. I went bigger than I thought was needed. I have the Corsair RM1000 and I thought that would be more than enough power, any guidance of any kind would be greatly appreciated. Can I actually run two 2GB 770's or do I need to invest into a better PSU, and if so can someone recommend me one? Thanks again.

GTX 770 require 19A on a +12V rail so when u SLI two GTX 770 u need double the power tht is 38A minimum.... ur Corsair RM 1000 is a +12A single Rail which can support upto 83.3A.... which is more than enough to power ur 2 GTX 770....

You need 850W from a single rail high quality power supply. The RM1000 is high quality and has a single rail and can supply 83A from it and so is eminently suitable.

So from what I draw from that, the rail doesn't really have much to do with powering a card, its more a matter of wattage supplied by the psu?

single Rail will also do....
well if it was a multiple rail PSU it must be able to supply a wattage in greater than 456 watts....

you guys are awesome. the thing that's confusing me though is that on the box it says requires 42a on the 12v rail, is that possibly referring to SLI capabilities? because the math indicates that the 230w's converts to 19amps, so where did the box get that information? It's been driving me crazy for the past few days.
