I have a little bit of trouble picking a gpu for an older pc of mine which needs a replacement, but I don't have any idea whether r7 250 (+free game included) or zotac gtx 650 synergy will suit my Spire 400W power supply and be better as overall performance.
From what I have been reading neither of the gpu's above require extra power, so they both should draw at max 75w, but a friend of mine told me that I was crazy even considering the r7 250 since he saw some benchmarks with that gpu drawing around 120w which adding to the 70...~80 at peak cpu power draw will wreck the power supply.
From every spec I see the nVidia would be better, but from reviews and surfing the web turned out the amd one is better, so I got totally baffled up about what should I pick, whether the r7 250 could be too much for the power supply the handle, if it would be better overall.....I'm totally confused.
I do not want to change the power supply, as the system itself will be replaced fully after some years.
