Hey, I'm looking for a new monitor for gaming mainly. I don't really know a lot when it comes to computers so I thought I'd ask a computer help forum :p . If you guys could give me some recommendations with reasonings of why you picked that monitor, that'd be really helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for all the suggestions so far. Sorry I forgot to mention in my op that I'd need a monitor with at least 120 hz because I often play moba games where high fps is pretty important.

ATI AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series

You might be confused, here, let me try to clarify for you, you say high fps is important right? A monitor with a high refresh rate will actually decrease your fps, a 60hz monitor will get 100fps, whereas a 120hz will get 45 ( used these numbers as a example) So when you say high fps is importan,t you really need to look at 60hz, 120hz and 144hz are higher end gpus mainly

I am so confused now. I thought gpu was a graphics card? I was also told by a few people that the higher the hz on your monitor the higher fps you will be able to run smoothly. Is this wrong then? O.o

Edit: I mean without screen tearing. My graphics card is capable of running league at 300 fps, but I get screen tearing if I go over anything above 60 because of my monitors cap, I presume? Hope this helps clarify what I mean.

yes, basically, with any graphics card, more fps will be obtained on a lower refresh rate monitor, only if you get a high end gpu will a 120hz/144hz monitor be worthwhile or necessary

Just saw your edit, well a higher refresh rate monitor may help, but screen tear only happens at high fps, anything below 70 will be fine for you, on league of legends, just cap the fps at 60? and on any other games put vsync on

Well, right now my fps is capped at 60 while I play league, basically I'd like to get a monitor that could run at 120 fps with vertical sync off. Are you saying I'll have to get a better gpu?

f.y.i , you won't notice the difference between 60 and 120fps really, on league I play at 60 fps and it's so smooth, comes down to skill really, higher frames won't help you get better

Lol, well, when I play uncapped on around 300 fps I find kiting a lot easier as well, as landing skillshots. Right now on 60 fps it feels laggy to me.

really? hm, well have you tried v sync? But if you're dead set pon a 120hz monitor then the one I mentioned before will be fine :)
