Hello everyone, so this is the first time I'm building my own pc and I'm not very knowledgeable about it and not sure if everything is compatible and will fit in the Tower that's below. I've been having a friend help me build it and he said I should go here and get some help. I've been doing some research about everything but just want to see if I get approval of the internet. Here are the specs below, if you have any questions just ask.

-MSI ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards Z97 GAMING 3
-XFX PRO650W Core Edition 80+ Bronze ATX 650 Energy Star Certified Power Supply
-EVGA GeForce GTX780 SuperClocked w/EVGA ACX Cooler 3GB GDDR5 384bit, DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI,DP, SLI Ready (03G-P4-2784-KR)
-Intel Core i5-4670K Quad-Core Desktop Processor 3.4 GHZ 6 MB Cache - BX80646I54670K
-Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM
-WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache
-TSST SATA 1.5 Gb-s Optical Drive
-NZXT Technologies SOURCE 220 CA-SO220-01 Matt Steel Mesh Front Mid Tower Case with USB 3.0

Any feedback with be extremely appreciated, thanks.

Honestly I don't even know why people buy unlocked processors if they aren't serious overclockers. It's really just spending an extra like $50 on something that MAY or may not increase performance should you choose to do it. I honestly recommend the 4590 or whatever it is that Tom's recommended in the CPU guide for August. It's like $180, and it's going to give the same performance sans the overclockability. If you do, you can also buy a slightly cheaper H97 board and that'll make more sense since you aren't overclocking.

I'll list pros and cons for you, so you can make your mind up

pros: Can last longer than the non k equivalent of that chipset as you can overclock it to keep up with the demands
Can overclock to get a slightly higher fps on cpu intensive games, bf4, witcher 3, gta 5

cons: costs a bit more than the non unlocked chip
may need to get a good cpu cooler

Don't forget that your temperatures and power usage will go up, and your CPU will have a shorter lifespan.

Power usage doesn't sky rocket, only a few watts, and that's why i said need a cpu cooler, to deal with the temps, the cpu is only damaged if you don't cool it properly, if you do it properly, it should be fine

I've overclocked my APU over 1GHz (4.7 stable from 3.6) and I haven't run into any temperature or stability issues. Unless you don't put thermal paste on (in which case it won't even boot I don't think) it'll be fine. Everything is controlled from the BIOS. If an overclock doesn't work, the computer will automatically revert back to the stable clock speed.

Your friend was probably referring to all the core voltage and whatnot. I cannot stress this enough. You do NOT need to change the core voltage in order to overclock. If you want to go more than a certain amount, you will need to increase it. If you're not comfortable, you can still get a great overclock without adjusting it at all.
