It really depends on your budget, but have a look at this list: http://www.head-fi.org/t/534479/mad-lust-envys-headphon...
Get one of the good headphones, with an external mic (v-moda sells a great mic with a cable, so you just replace the cable on the headphones where you can), and it will be better than those two options.

There are different price tiers, of course tier A is going to be expensive, have a look at the headphones in the tier that fits your budget. And what is your budget anyway?

Bigger drivers are better - better bass response.

They should be good enough, the bass is nice, but there isn't as much detail as the AD700X that I listed above for example. You can just get this mic: http://v-moda.com/boompro-microphone/ and plug it in. No need to buy new headphones.

In the guide I listed, they show you what virtual surround can do. They will sound better for music than any gaming headphones, and will work just as well if not better for gaming.

They are great, for gaming and music. This would be your best option, as they usually sell for $250 from what I recall. Look at the musical performance as well: http://www.whathifi.com/akg/q701/review

You can just get this mic: http://v-moda.com/boompro-microphone/ and plug it in. No need to buy new headphones." With the mic recommendation and everything.
