have a Dell mstudio laptop. core2duo, 8gigs ram, 256 ati 3650 radeon mobility. plug in HDMI cable, sound through tv, picture is perfect on screen. windows 7 ultimate 64.
desktop, 2.5ghz pentium dual core. asus board, realtek audio on the mobo, msi nvidia 9500gt pcie 512 graphics card, 4gigs ram, windows 7 ultimate 64. picture is perfect. no sound through HDMI to tv.

tried hooking a toshiba laptop with built in ati graphics, tooled around, set tv as default for sound and got sound. plugged in another toshiba laptop with 1gig ati dedicated card- got sound.
ive tried plugging in the audio cable- the male adapter 3.5mm jack headphone stile- like the tv tells me to do with hdmi or vga cable attached. not needed on my laptops, just my desktop. driving me nuts lol. any ideas that doesnt involve a hammer?
