Recently I have found this ram for $100 maybe even less depending on my negotiating skills.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Now the price alone makes me want to go sprinting straight for this deal however I don't know if I want to spend $100 only to find out that it's incompatible with my current set of ram.

Is it worth it? Would it be compatible with the ram that I have now?

(I know 24GB of ram is a hell of a lot but I'm also thinking about saving the money now so that I don't have to spend it for my next upgrade.)

It's already out of stock. ^^ And no you shouldn't pair two different sets of ram, they might work, and they might not.

No, I'm not buying it from Newegg, I found some warehouse place selling it for $100 bucks flat.
Thank you for your answer.

Even if it did play nice together 24GB is a complete waste of money, you'll never use anywhere near that amount of RAM in normal usage
